Who are we?

We live in a world full of nuance color, blurred lines once distinct, and new definitions of inspirations. We spend our whole life trying to explain who we are through our art when art is sufficient in itself to explain us. I am who my art says I am, that is inspiration.

Armando Heredia

Artist, Armando Heredia, featured at Stltoday.com and Collinsville Herald

Artist Statement

I was raised in the woods. I grew up out-of-doors, as the daughter of a national park ranger. My father began taking me to Conservationist meetings when I was three. From my earliest scribblings, my artwork was recreation of that environment. I am now working on the purposeful creation of environments that invite people to come in and interact rather than merely observe. This may take the form of a temporary installation in a park that requires a team to create or involve living things which…

72 Hour Abduction – There Is No Place Like Alone.

I participated in a simulated abduction to raise awareness for human trafficking. Here's my response from the event:

It wasn't the six hours, it was the last thirty minutes.

Maybe I could point to the strong chemical odor in the particular area of the basement I was in. It did give me a headache, but it wouldn't be completely true. It was the mental picture I had when I lay down on the cot I borrowed for the event.
